Nothing to Lose

Episode fifteen is here! Short and sweet, just like Jesus' message to us: He is the way, the truth and the life. So, let's ask ourselves, "what do I have to lose if I simply say Yes to Jesus?" Let's unpack all of that in under 10 minutes.

Speaker:

Good morning and happy Monday everyone,

whether on the way to work or school.

2

:

I pray that you have an amazing

day and a great rest of your week.

3

:

My friends, we are officially

in October and it's crazy.

4

:

It's crazy that these are

the last three months of:

5

:

already, and time is fleeting.

6

:

It is fleeting, and the speed at

which it is, it's really unforgiving.

7

:

So I wanna ask you, and I'm jumping right

to the chase this morning, like we have

8

:

no time to lose, just like I was saying.

9

:

But I'm going to ask you now,

what are you doing with your time?

10

:

Are you wasting away the precious

days that we've been allotted?

11

:

a person I care about very,

very much reminded me yesterday,

12

:

that time does not belong to us.

13

:

And he is absolutely right.

14

:

Time does not belong to us, and in

this question of what you're doing with

15

:

your time, I also ask this, what do

you have to lose by believing in Jesus?

16

:

What do you have to lose?

17

:

Imagine your life at this very moment.

18

:

Okay?

19

:

Is there something of value, something

that you have that would still not

20

:

let you choose Jesus before that?

21

:

And what is it?

22

:

So really, really try to

think about that for a moment.

23

:

Okay?

24

:

If there is something like

that, what would it be?

25

:

Now, if you're a follower, you know

that there is nothing greater than

26

:

him, but I'm sure that there are

still some people that have things

27

:

of the world that you would still put

first before Jesus, and that's okay.

28

:

It's all in God's timing, right?

29

:

But you know what?

30

:

Maybe it's that home that you just bought.

31

:

you put all that money aside,

all those hours that you put

32

:

in just to buy that home.

33

:

Maybe it's a car, maybe even

something that someone gifted you.

34

:

And I understand that.

35

:

I felt that at one point.

36

:

And yes, those things are

wonderful and they do hold

37

:

value, but only here on Earth.

38

:

but let me be the one to remind you.

39

:

Okay?

40

:

And I know that you've heard this before.

41

:

We leave this beautiful earth

the exact same way that we came.

42

:

We will not be taking anything with us.

43

:

We will not be taking anything with us.

44

:

The only thing that we can eventually

have again, are our loved ones, and

45

:

that is only if they say yes to Jesus.

46

:

Only if they believe and only

if they follow him and believe

47

:

in the promise that only through

him you will have eternal life.

48

:

And so I tell you and just says

how Jesus spoke to his disciples.

49

:

I will use these five words truly.

50

:

I say to you, what do you have to lose?

51

:

It's a big question.

52

:

And.

53

:

Per usual, big questions usually

warrant a lot of rebuttals so I'm

54

:

gonna share a few of the things that

I lost when I said yes to Jesus.

55

:

The first and the only thing that I lost.

56

:

The first and the only thing.

57

:

Is that I lost the want to sin.

58

:

The need to sin the enjoyment of sin,

and sin comes in many, many forms.

59

:

Okay?

60

:

We all sin.

61

:

None of us are exempt from it.

62

:

We are not Jesus.

63

:

We are not perfect, and we each

sin every single day of our

64

:

lives whether we want to or not.

65

:

Sometimes we don't even realize

or know that we're doing that, but

66

:

the truth is that I lost nothing.

67

:

I lost nothing.

68

:

I may have endured a few side-eye

from my family and still maybe but I

69

:

may have endured some harsh comments

and some ridicule from them saying

70

:

that my walk is only transient

and it's not real, but it is real.

71

:

My yes was real, but then again,

the reality is that I didn't

72

:

lose anything that I would miss.

73

:

We're already.

74

:

Over that state of the harsh remarks.

75

:

I'm in a much better place with my family.

76

:

Everyone around me knows I love Jesus.

77

:

I am serving him.

78

:

I am reading the word.

79

:

I'm not shy about proclaiming how

I feel and just wanting to share

80

:

my thoughts from time to time.

81

:

but the best part is that nothing

I endured, none of those moments.

82

:

That made me feel like crap with my

family or with people that I know.

83

:

None of those comments or a single

word is close to what our savior,

84

:

the Lord Jesus endured on his way

to the cross and on the cross.

85

:

Nothing, none of that will ever compare.

86

:

But that aside, I did

gain quite a few things.

87

:

First, I gained a savior.

88

:

I gained a savior, and we can

all have him if we want him.

89

:

That is the truth.

90

:

But I have more hope for my

life now than I ever had before.

91

:

I feel loved and I feel joy every time.

92

:

I think that the one that gave his

life for me, it's a divine guide.

93

:

I gained the Holy Spirit.

94

:

I gained conviction.

95

:

I gained discernment.

96

:

And of the world.

97

:

Honestly, I gained so many amazing souls

and so many friends that also love God.

98

:

Friends that are there when you ask

for help that are always pushing you

99

:

to be better and to stay in Christ.

100

:

Those are the things that I gained

now I know I will never be perfect.

101

:

None of us will be just like

I said a few minutes ago.

102

:

But in this walk with Christ, this,

yes, this decision to believe in him

103

:

and let him continue to author my book,

it has brought the enemy even closer.

104

:

More tests, more hurdles, more questions.

105

:

that's the last thing that we

also gain from our yes to Jesus.

106

:

And so that, you know.

107

:

I did not include that previously with

the other thing that I lost my want to

108

:

sin before and then that need to sin.

109

:

I didn't include that before because

nothing of the enemy, belongs near

110

:

the things that we gain from the Lord.

111

:

In fact, the things that we gain

with our belief in God shouldn't

112

:

even be mentioned or compared.

113

:

To what the an enemy tries.

114

:

And that's just my opinion, you guys.

115

:

This is just me talking.

116

:

I'm not saying anything

right now from the Bible.

117

:

This is just my personal opinion, but let

us not question why things happen to us.

118

:

Let us not question why

things are put in our path.

119

:

We just need to be steadfast and

listen and be obedient and know

120

:

that God is trying to guide us.

121

:

So instead, let's just ask God for

that guidance and for that help.

122

:

And again, what can you lose by

just asking him those questions?

123

:

Honestly, not much.

124

:

There is not much that you will lose,

125

:

but like I said before, if you go out for

a moment and you're not guaranteed to come

126

:

home, so make the most of this fleeting

time and lay your life down for the Lord.

127

:

Philippians chapter three

verses 20 through 21 says.

128

:

But our citizenship is in heaven,

and we eagerly await a savior from

129

:

there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who by

the power that enables him to bring

130

:

everything under his control, will

transform our lowly bodies so that

131

:

they will be like his glorious body.

132

:

If you have some sort of

illness, anxiety, depression,

133

:

money troubles, just let it go.

134

:

Let those things rest on the

Lord because he is not only

135

:

our savior, he is our provider.

136

:

He is our redeemer.

137

:

He will heal, he will restore.

138

:

He will make our lowly bodies

new and there is so much to look

139

:

forward to on our walk with Christ.

140

:

There really is.

141

:

If you are already following him,

if you're already following Jesus,

142

:

then maybe, maybe you had a moment

where you became a little lukewarm.

143

:

Maybe that moment is

right now, I don't know.

144

:

But I encourage you in this very second

that you are listening to me speak.

145

:

Just take a look out your window, or

if you're driving, look out through

146

:

the windshield carefully, of course.

147

:

But look at the sky.

148

:

Look at the color of the sky.

149

:

Look at the clouds.

150

:

Do you feel the heat of

the sun on your hands?

151

:

As you're holding the wheel of

your car, you are here and you

152

:

can feel all of these things.

153

:

You can see all of these things.

154

:

You can hear all of these things around

you, and all of these things around us

155

:

were beautifully made to perfection.

156

:

And the same goes for us.

157

:

And when you understand the love that

Jesus has for us, when you say yes to

158

:

him and to his promise for us, all of

our views of the surroundings change.

159

:

So I pray that you find it within

your heart and that your heart that

160

:

is deceiving you actually, your heart,

that is deceiving you into thinking that

161

:

this world has better things to offer

you than God I pray, and I dare you to

162

:

ask, what do I have to lose with you?

163

:

Jesus.

164

:

His answer will be eternity

with me, so don't lose out.

165

:

Don't lose out on a beautiful

eternity just because the

166

:

things of the world feel good.

167

:

Don't lose out because

things are good right now.

168

:

Those cars and houses, those drugs

that alcohol, those friends that put

169

:

you in sticky situations, none of

those things will fill your cup like

170

:

the love and the spirit of the Lord.

171

:

Say yes and enjoy becoming a new creation.

172

:

Second Corinthians chapter five, verse

17 says, therefore, if anyone is in

173

:

Christ, the new creation has come.

174

:

The old has gone.

175

:

The new is here.

176

:

Truth, you are new in Christ.

177

:

Even today.

178

:

Say goodbye to the old you and

hello to Christ, my friends.

179

:

He was always there.

180

:

And he always will be.

181

:

Thank you guys for joining me today.

182

:

I love you all and I hope that you

have a blessed rest of your week.

183

:

Until next time, take care.

To whoever reads this:
I'm glad you're here and I hope you stay a while. There is something I need to give back to the world - and to you.

That 'something' is my story, my life and my words that were once marked by pain, but are now marked by love and a new found faith in Christ. But hold it right there! Do not be quick to judge. While the root of all my talks are founded in the Bible - do not mistake what I have to say for 'unremarkable' or 'not relatable'.

My story is different than yours. However, if there is one thing we 100% have in common, it's that God has always been with us. If you agree - stick around. If you DON'T agree - stick around too. Let me show the unbeliever, the doubter, and the unsure person, how God has always been there.
