My old 'soul draining' job is shutting down—but is it Karma—or something deeper? Let’s unravel the truth, recant the truth of the Bible and why God’s plan will always speak louder in the end, as long as we listen.

I just wanted to say thank you

far, honestly, just looking back

on the past few weeks, I have felt.

So happy, so fulfilled.

Like it really just dawned on me how

much of a change I have had personally,

spiritually, my life as a whole.

and I just, I just feel so grateful.

So grateful, for everything

that has happened in my life.

And I I mean, if I'm being

honest, when I started.

Thinking of the idea of doing this

podcast, I was like, oh, well people

are not gonna, you know, like it

if I'm always talking about God.

And for a split second, I had that

thought in my head and I'm just

like, you know what, sari, you

need to speak what's in your heart.

And I feel like that's what I'm doing.

I feel that I can't talk about

anything else other than the

things that God has done for me.

And I know that God is

working in your life too.

know that we wanna get closer in Christ.

But we know that we are dealing with so

much and so much negativity that we don't

know it yet, but in our hearts, that's

the Holy Spirit wanting us to go back.

To Jesus and to think about God and

to have that relationship and to pray.

to just share what God has done for me

that that will shape your walk as well.

But anyhow, And without further

ado, we're gonna jump into today's

topic, which is, it's not karma.

It's not karma.

And you're probably like, okay,

Sara, what are you talking about?

First of all, now I wanna preface this

topic with my personal experience,

with thinking that something is karma.

No.

As I believe I have mentioned

before, I'm a paralegal.

I've been a paralegal now

for, um, almost eight years.

Uh, I believe it's in December.

:

But anyway, I gave my life to this career.

I worked at, this law firm and for now,

for privacy purposes to not slander

:

them, uh, we'll just call them mg.

But I gave my life to this place.

:

I worked 16 hour days and it was chaos.

It was always chaos.

There was always something going

wrong, and it was a place that could

:

not be fixed with the unrealistic

standards that the bosses had.

It's a miracle, honestly, in my opinion,

that they were not reviewed by the Florida

:

bar, but given how I was treated, given.

How I just felt the last months

that I was there, I felt gaslit.

Honestly, there was just so

many things that happened.

:

those last few weeks that I just left, I

was upset and I left and I didn't care.

I started from zero.

But then I finally got back up on my

feet and unknowingly I began seeking God.

It was through music.

I started discovering more worship songs.

The first worship song I ever

listened to was the Blessing.

and I slowly started finding my way until

one day my son asks me to go to church.

Now, with that aside.

God was literally paving the way

for me to get to where I am now.

my current, employer, we'll just call him

DSL for now, but he literally paved the

way for me to work there and to be there.

And now it's been almost a year down

that road in DSL and I hear from the

grapevine something that's happening

in my previous employer at mg.

And my first thought at that time was

:

Karma.

It has to be Karma.

MG is closing their doors.

A business that had been

open for years crumbling.

And it's unfortunate.

It's unfortunate for the

people that are still employed.

And I thought, again, is that karma?

It's not.

It's really not.

Was it God though?

Also, no, my friends also, no.

So if the demise of this place where

honestly people were Godless wasn't Karma

and it wasn't God, then what was it?

It It was free will.

It was free will.

That is what brought that place down.

Free will can either build you up.

Or I can tear you down.

And that is exactly what

happened in that place.

The leaders of that business

were so enveloped in their greed

and their desire to grow, that

they didn't do things correctly.

They didn't care how they did things.

it brought them down by their own actions.

So if you look at it that

way, no, it's not karma.

And you know, God didn't do that.

it wasn't a form of punishment.

It really wasn't.

And you're probably like, oh, well,

I mean, it sounds like a punishment.

You know, because they're

losing their business.

No, God blessed them years ago.

God blessed them with a

means to open up a business.

He prepared that for them.

But you know what they didn't do?

They didn't steward it correctly.

They just wanted more and more and

they became greedy and they just did

things so fast without measure, without

caring about the people that were there.

Truly caring.

You know, I'm not gonna say that it

was all bad, but at the end of the day,

without truly caring about the outcome

of things, that it brought them down.

So, no, my friends, it was not Karma.

It was not, it was not God.

It was their free will.

That was their own worst enemy.

And so that brings me to

the discussion of karma.

Like people say, karma's a bitch.

And again, I'm sorry, pardon

my French, but that popular

phrase could not be more wrong.

I say this as simple as it can be.

It's not karma, it's you.

We, us, our thoughts, our heart,

we're our own worst enemy.

It's not karma, you guys, it really isn't.

But anyway, it's certainly not God either.

So let me remind you of this

Jeremiah 29 11 for I know the plans

I have for you, declares the Lord.

Plans to prosper you and not to harm you.

Plans to give you hope and a future.

That is what our Lord declared

and is written in the Bible.

One of the many, many reminders of

our plan, our purpose, and what he

is going to do for us to prosper us.

Good things, not bad things.

So before we declare a bad thing in

our life such as karma, why don't

we just analyze how we got there?

How, and speaking of how.

How did Karma even come to be?

Like, who had that thought, you

know, one day to say, oh, that's

Karma, and they just decided that

karma is like this whole thing.

So, if you look at Wikipedia, karma

is an ancient Indian concept that

refers to an action, work, or deed,

and its effect or consequences.

Now.

Also in Indian religions, that term

is more specifically referring to

the principle of cause and effect.

It's kind of been taken and twisted

and really become its own thing for

different kinds of people, but it

is also sometimes misunderstood as

fate, destiny, predetermination.

common themes for rebirth,

ization, and causality.

Now, I had no idea.

That ization was even a word.

Maybe I'm saying it wrong, but

that is the theory that every

action has the consequences and

it's derived from the word ethic.

Now, causality is precisely

what you think it means.

It's the principle that

everything has a cause.

if you wanna look into the quote

unquote rebirth aspect of karma,

you can, I personally don't wanna

dive into that too much, because

I surely don't support

that idea in my heart.

I know that we have one creator

and we were made with one purpose,

and that's his plan for us.

So I do wanna leave you

with these questions.

Ask yourself, how did that rebirth

cycle start in the first place?

And what is the merit of one thing?

Ization versus causality?

It really doesn't make sense.

It's essentially the same thing and

it's cause and effect, but you have

to ask yourself those questions.

Because when you believe in God and in

Jesus and that he is our creator, you

can't really think that karma is a thing.

So I want to share this

scripture with you.

Psalm 1 39, 16.

You saw me before I was born.

Every day of my life was

recorded in your book.

Every moment was laid out

before a single day had passed.

Now, I love that scripture because he

knows your plan, he knows what your

story is going to be, And I was reading

into Philippians two and I was looking

for ways to avoid making bad choices.

And it's really simple, the

things that we have to do.

To deal with the least

negative outcomes as possible.

It's all in the Bible.

And it's funny 'cause I actually

saw a meme the other day on

Instagram that said point of view.

I wish life came with a manual and

then it was a man holding up a Bible.

And I just, I laughed at that because it's

like so many people often say that And

it's like even when we don't know what to

do in certain situations, pray about it.

Pray about it.

And somehow if you have faith,

somehow God will show you.

God will pave the way for you, just

like how he did for me and getting

me out of that place that I just so

desperately wanted to succeed at.

But it was clear that I was

not supposed to be there.

It was clear that I was not supposed

to be there, and he, he took me out.

He put it in my heart that I was

like, fine, you're not gonna value me.

I'm gonna go.

And he put it step by step in my path how

I was supposed to get to where I am today.

And I obeyed.

And so in Philippians two, going back

to what I was saying, 'cause you know I

start to ramble in Philippians two, verse

three through four say, do nothing out of

selfish ambition or vain conceit rather,

and humility, value others above yourself.

Not looking to your own interests, but

each of you to the interests of others.

Now that's very plain and simple,

A lot of people are greedy and they

just want more and more and more,

They don't wanna share their things.

But what's wrong with, that?

We have to learn how to do things

for others before ourselves.

And yes, that sounds corny.

To some people, especially non-believers,

but there is no better feeling than

doing something from the heart and

not expecting anything in return.

Now reading on Philippians two, verse six

through eight, who being in the nature,

God did not consider equality with God.

Something to be used to his own advantage.

Rather, he made himself nothing By

taking the very nature of a servant,

being made and human likeness and

being found in appearance as a man, he

humbled himself by becoming obedient.

To death, even death on the cross.

Now, while yes, that sounds drastic.

Jesus knew his plan.

He avoided all the things

necessary to have even more

problems in his 33 years of life.

But he knew his plan and he listened, and

little by little, he knew exactly what

he had to do to fulfill his purpose, and

that was to die on that cross for our

sins Now, what stood out to me from this

was that it says he made himself nothing.

He gave everything that he had.

He gave everything of himself for us.

He made himself a servant.

He humbled himself and he was obedient.

If we humble ourselves, if we learn

to live with things that we have,

not constantly wanting more and more

and more, and thinking that what

we have is the greatest thing ever.

Then we will truly see what God is doing

in our lives and that will be enough.

that's part of the problem nowadays,

that people aren't satisfied, and those

thoughts make them have bad choices.

They continue to seek more and more and

more, and it leads them to a road that

they are wanting to get out of and they

just don't know how Now, I'm gonna skip

the next few verses, for a little bit.

but it highlights here

Philippians two, verse 14 and 15.

It says, do everything without grumbling

or arguing so that you may become

blameless and pure children of God without

fault in a warped and crooked generation.

We have jobs.

Let's be grateful for what we have.

Let's be grateful that we have children.

Be grateful that your parents are

teaching you things that are going

to make you a better person tomorrow.

Don't argue so much.

Don't fight the things

that you have to do.

you are eventually going to be opened

up to what your purpose in this life is.

I wanna go back to the previous verses.

Because it was just so beautiful.

But, um, Philippians two verse nine

through 11 says, therefore, God exalted

him in the highest place and gave him

the name that is above every name.

That at the name of Jesus every knee

should bow in heaven and on earth,

and under the earth and every tongue

acknowledge that Jesus Christ is

Lord to the glory of God the Father.

And that's exactly what happened.

Jesus made himself nothing.

He made himself a servant.

He humbled himself down

and he was obedient.

He fulfilled his purpose

on earth and what happened?

God exalted him in the highest

of highest places and now no one

can sing that he is not Lord.

And while we may not be Lord.

If we are obedient and we listen and

we make the correct choices and we

don't blame things like karma, but we

acknowledge that we are not doing things

in the image of Jesus and we are not doing

better, then we will also be rewarded.

So Philippians two really just grasps

that theme of how to do better.

and I wish that people would just

know that less is more, less is more.

now the last part of Philippians

two is titled Timothy, and

Now Paul is the one who authored,

this book in the Bible Philippians.

And in this part, Philippians two

verses 19, all the way through

Um, he uses these two persons as an

example of selfless service and what

Christian character should look like, so.

highlights how he's confident and how

he trusts that Timothy is going to, do

good work and, going to be a positive,

light for the church at that time.

Now in verses 25 through 30,

Paul is talking about ROIs.

Now from my understanding, Paul

was in prison and even though

Iritis was very sick, he wanted

to continue to do the Will of God.

And he knew that his purpose

was to minister and be there for

Paul at that time even though

he was pretty much almost dying.

Um, that's how sick he was.

So.

This is just something that's

briefly discussed in these verses,

but it's just amazing to see that

when a person is really obedient,

they will just go out of their way.

no matter, what good or bad

it does to themself, but at

the end they are rewarded.

Philippians two, verse 27 says.

Indeed he was ill and almost died, but God

had mercy on him, and not on him only, but

also on me to spare me sorrow upon sorrow.

So in that verse, Paul was saying

that yes, a pitis was sick,

but God showed mercy on him.

they were steadfast they continued to

make that choice, and they were rewarded.

Now, I could only say, imagine in

that time if Timothy and Pitis didn't

do that, it could have gone so many

different ways, I will say that there

are so many people in the Bible that

if they would have just had faith.

In God or had faith in Jesus,

their lives would've been

completely, completely different.

Samson, as I mentioned in one of

my previous episodes, Samson chose

lust and he fell to the Philistines.

He was conquered because he chose a

woman over what he knew his purpose was.

So some of you would

say, oh, that was karma.

No, that was him.

Those were his decisions.

His decisions led to his demise.

As well as King David.

He had an affair with Beth Sheba.

He sinned, he tried to cover it up

and it resulted in consequences of his

household and he even lost a child.

But one of my favorite

examples is Matthew.

Matthew chose to be a tax collector.

Now if you're not familiar with the

word and with Matthew's story, but

you've seen the Chosen, um, you'll know

that his family turned away from him.

Everyone hated him.

He chose to take away from his own

people and be a tax collector so

that choice of his free will 'cause

the Romans did not make him do it.

He chose that his own choice led

to so much hate, to so many people

just turning their back on him.

And it's the same thing.

every time that we disobey or weve off of

God's plan for us, we need to stop and we

need to listen, and we need to get back

on track The faster we get back on track.

And we stop that, oh, it's karma, or, oh,

this is, this isn't what I manifested,

and all those things that aren't

from the Bible, that aren't of God.

and we truly analyze ourselves, we will

understand that we have made our own bed.

And we have to lie in it.

so rather than having to deal with all

of these things, if we truly start to

follow what we know, we're good at the

things that God blessed us with, the

abilities that God blessed us with.

We can use those things.

Maybe your abilities have nothing to do

with God's purpose for you, but I know

that there will be a moment in your life

eventually where you will understand

where you will feel it in your heart,

that that was put there for you by God.

relationship with God, that is when

you what it is that your purpose is.
