Speaker:

Welcome to the I Can.

2

:

He Can podcast the podcast

for literally anyone.

3

:

However, if you are a woman, you're

probably the person listening on the

4

:

other side of that speaker right now.

5

:

I'm your host Sarai, And you'll

pretty much get to know everything

6

:

about me, including the things that

make me say I can't, but also the

7

:

things that remind me that he can.

8

:

So without further ado, let's

jump into today's episode.

9

:

I.

10

:

Hello and welcome back to a

new episode of I Can't He Can.

11

:

Happy Monday to you all

and Happy Labor Day.

12

:

If you were not working today, don't

forget to be grateful for that.

13

:

And fun fact, just in case you

were like me and you have no idea

14

:

why we even celebrate Labor Day.

15

:

But, labor Day actually became

a federal holiday in:

16

:

That's the 19th century, and that

was during the Industrial Revolution

17

:

Where they recognized the hard work

of the labor movement and advocated

18

:

for better wages, shorter hours,

safer conditions for workers.

19

:

Um, because from what I read, there was

a lot of harsh treatment at that time.

20

:

So thank goodness, no more of that.

21

:

And thank goodness that we

also have an extra day off.

22

:

Right.

23

:

So with that little nugget of

information, I am even more grateful

24

:

and happy to be off of work today

because not only is it just a day of

25

:

no work and some relaxation, but I am

also celebrating along with my family.

26

:

My youngest sister's birthday, she

is turning 25 today and it feels

27

:

like yesterday I was holding her in

the hospital while I was wearing my

28

:

Backstreet Boys Millennium T-shirt.

29

:

And you know, they're just some things

and some moments that you don't forget.

30

:

But anyway, I'm not going to

bore you going down memory

31

:

lane like that right now.

32

:

So.

33

:

Happy birthday, Jan.

34

:

May God bless you with many, many

more happy and healthy years of life.

35

:

God knew exactly what he was doing

when he made you my littlest sister.

36

:

And I love you so, so much.

37

:

So I hope that you listen to this.

38

:

But anyway, I'll tell you, I'll

tell you later anyway, and alright

39

:

friends, if you follow me on Instagram.

40

:

Well, my tag is walking with Yahweh,

that's spelled walking with YHWH.

41

:

It's actually the, I

guess, acronym for Yahweh.

42

:

But anyway, if you guys follow me

on Instagram, you'll see that I

43

:

posted a story, in which I mentioned

that I was like really, really

44

:

exhausted just from this week, and

I feel like I say that a lot lately.

45

:

But the truth is that, coming home from

work, dealing with the kids, schoolwork,

46

:

homework, meal prepping during the week.

47

:

'cause I am trying to do a little bit

better as far as, having homemade meals,

48

:

It's just a lot.

49

:

It's nonstop, and I'm usually also

using my Saturdays to run errands, and

50

:

then Sundays is for church and serving

and sometimes even some more errands.

51

:

it's so fast and so much all

the time, and me having MS just

52

:

really doesn't help either.

53

:

You know?

54

:

It's more taxing on me than I'd

like to admit most of the time.

55

:

But let's put it this way.

56

:

What is normal activity for

someone, can quite literally suck

57

:

the life out of me, for example.

58

:

So a day at the park in the heat, fatigue

and vertigo like no questions asked.

59

:

This Miami weather just

fatigue and vertigo.

60

:

walking around Costco or Target, us

women, we tend to walk and walk and

61

:

spend hours going up and down the aisles.

62

:

that leaves my legs

feeling super weak and.

63

:

get that tingling sensation like my

legs are asleep and depending on how

64

:

many things I've already done in the

day, then I'll end up with some major

65

:

fatigue just 'cause I've had enough.

66

:

But if you know me, you know that my

life is always on the go, especially

67

:

on weekends, and I always overdo it.

68

:

But this is why I enjoy

working on my podcast.

69

:

it's just been such.

70

:

A nice time for me to Stop.

71

:

And it really forces me to be still

kind of like how God says in the

72

:

Bible, be still and know that I am God.

73

:

And now that I think about it, it's

almost like this was given to me to allow

74

:

me to wind down and think and feel some

peace and enjoy that quiet time and just.

75

:

Dive into the word, when I'm prepping

and looking up scriptures, I kind

76

:

of like really, just bring home

the point that I'm trying to make.

77

:

it's just funny how things work

because I hadn't thought about

78

:

that until now, and it's been seven

whole weeks of me doing the podcast.

79

:

And I finally had that realization, like,

wow, you know, maybe this was God's way

80

:

of saying, girl, you need to slow down.

81

:

I'm gonna give you some homework.

82

:

You, you wanna talk about me all the time?

83

:

You wanna talk about me all the time

and let people know that you love God.

84

:

Okay, fine, but you need to chill.

85

:

Let's do it this way.

86

:

And, um, I'm okay with that.

87

:

You know, I love doing this and

it just really makes me so happy.

88

:

Like, if you could see me right now, I'm

sitting here in my little corner desk and

89

:

I just, I have a huge smile on my face.

90

:

anyway, I'm not gonna continue

rambling about that, but.

91

:

As you can see, my friends,

this episode is pretty chill.

92

:

I have a lot on my mind today and

just a lot of things going on and

93

:

it really has been nonstop, but.

94

:

While I do have a topic I wanted

to touch on, I also wanted to

95

:

acknowledge that it's just insane.

96

:

this is episode 10, technically

11 if you count the two

97

:

testimonies, as separate episodes.

98

:

But yeah, this is episode 10 and

to all that have listened and.

99

:

have stuck around this far for the ride

I'm just so, so grateful that you're here.

100

:

And speaking of grateful and just having

gratitude, uh, there are two things

101

:

that I wanted to briefly discuss today.

102

:

And the first thing is building a

relationship with God brings you even

103

:

more Godly relationships to your life.

104

:

And I'll give you a set of examples.

105

:

And the first one obviously,

is when you go to church.

106

:

When you start going to

church, that just opens.

107

:

An array of different people

new things that you're going

108

:

to immerse yourself in, right?

109

:

So I have met just so many wonderful,

wonderful people and I know that

110

:

some people, you know, go to church

and just go and leave, and they just

111

:

sit there and they get the word and

they feel, great during worship,

112

:

But honestly, serving at church

is probably the best thing that

113

:

you can do if you do go to church.

114

:

And it's brought so many

amazing people into my life.

115

:

For example, D Mara, she is an usher

for the church, and I feel like

116

:

the first time her and I began to

get close was in the women's group.

117

:

after that I know that we started

talking more and more and, when I

118

:

saw her ushering at church, we'd

be like, oh, hi, how are you?

119

:

And it just flourished from there

after we started the women's group.

120

:

And then, um, there's Tanya and Hector

and Ami, they are in the worship team, and

121

:

Tanya and Hector are the worship leaders.

122

:

And I mean, they've just all been.

123

:

So wonderful in different ways.

124

:

I could go on and on about them, but

in their own individual way, they

125

:

have all helped me in something.

126

:

And, you don't realize how

much you need people who.

127

:

Love God just like you, but have used God

in a different way and can share their

128

:

experience and their wisdom with you.

129

:

So I'm really grateful for them.

130

:

and then there's Yuli and Isis.

131

:

ISIS is just so funny.

132

:

She's, she's full of life and she

loves God and loves her husband and

133

:

her son so much, and she just has so

many ideas and she's such a go-getter.

134

:

And I just, I love.

135

:

How energized I feel when I'm with her.

136

:

we talk a lot now 'cause we're both

also helping in the, social media team.

137

:

So it's just, it's just wonderful because

she has like a different vibe, than

138

:

some of the other people that I talk to.

139

:

And we really connect because

we've always had that.

140

:

build a business mentality and we wanna

do our own thing, but at the same time,

141

:

now it's all kind of like wrapped up

in God and this is where he's led us.

142

:

And it's just, it's so beautiful to

see, and how the word and church and

143

:

just God has brought us together.

144

:

there's also yuli and she's just.

145

:

So sweet.

146

:

Probably one of the nicest and

sweetest people that I have ever met.

147

:

And she's just such a prayer warrior.

148

:

Like, oh God, I just, I

love these people so much.

149

:

They've done so much.

150

:

So it's, I didn't expect to get emotional.

151

:

Gosh, maybe it's 'cause it's 10

30 at night and I'm exhausted.

152

:

I don't know.

153

:

But anyway.

154

:

she is prayed so much for

my daughter and my son.

155

:

and there's so much value in that.

156

:

There's people in your life who will be

there with you, through your successes

157

:

and the, for you only in good times, but

that doesn't really matter if they're not

158

:

there for you in the bad times, you know?

159

:

she's always followed up with

me, texted me, just showed

160

:

how much she genuinely cared.

161

:

And, um, you can't put a price

on that, you know, so, ugh.

162

:

Gosh.

163

:

I'm gonna pause for a second.

164

:

Okay.

165

:

If you guys are on episode

10 and you're listening, you

166

:

know that I cry all the time.

167

:

I cry all the time, and you can probably

hear in my voice every single time I'm

168

:

getting emotional, so I just had to

take a few seconds there because I never

169

:

thought that talking about all these

people would make me so emotional anyway.

170

:

moving on you guys.

171

:

I never imagined that going to

church would just open up my

172

:

heart in the way that it did.

173

:

but when I surrendered to the Lord,

I truly immersed myself in what, in

174

:

my opinion, the Christian life is.

175

:

And that's exactly what I'm doing.

176

:

going to church every Sunday, reading

the word just Sharing my experiences and,

177

:

and what he's done for me and how he has

transformed my life with other people.

178

:

And one of the ways that I could

give back is to serve the same way

179

:

that Jesus came here to serve his

disciples and, and everyone that

180

:

he was healing and praying for.

181

:

So, he showed up in my life in so

many ways, and I just wanna show

182

:

up that same way for other people.

183

:

And, hopefully that's what I'm doing here.

184

:

maybe I don't know you when you're

listening and I just showed up

185

:

here and gave you some encouraging

words that can help you get through

186

:

to the next step in your life.

187

:

So anyway, my friends, when you build

that relationship with God, you get

188

:

more godly relationships in return.

189

:

And when you're speaking to people

that are also following Jesus, those

190

:

conversations are just so different.

191

:

And for the past two weeks,

I've been doing a morning Bible

192

:

study on TikTok with Doug Mara.

193

:

my friend that I mentioned, she is, one of

the ushers at church it's been so amazing.

194

:

So amazing to wake up, start

your day, some sort of peaceful

195

:

time with your friends.

196

:

Reading the word of God

or having it read to you.

197

:

'cause essentially she's

reading it and I'm listening.

198

:

it's just, it's wonderful.

199

:

It just brings you a sense of peace

and tranquility that we all truly

200

:

need, especially to start our day.

201

:

and with those lives I actually also

met two more wonderful ladies that

202

:

are friends of Dara Nori and Tori.

203

:

it's funny because.

204

:

Tori also has MS just like me.

205

:

And even though, having MS is not

the most important thing, it's

206

:

not like the center of our lives.

207

:

It really is great to meet people that

you have so many things in common with,

208

:

not just ms, but also God, she's amazing

when she prays and it's beautiful to see.

209

:

It's beautiful to see

and it's very uplifting.

210

:

And again, gratitude, like I am just so

grateful, for those new relationships.

211

:

And speaking of new relationships,

sometimes these people that are

212

:

brought into your life can quite

literally just come out of thin air.

213

:

let me just say I had the most random

but amazing conversation the other

214

:

day, with this gentleman that I've been

following for a few months now on TikTok.

215

:

his name is Rich.

216

:

he's an Army vet.

217

:

I'm not sure if he's still

active in the army, but.

218

:

I know for sure that he's in the Army.

219

:

and he owns his own business

called Map to Manhood.

220

:

And in a nutshell, his business is also

rooted in the faith, which I absolutely

221

:

love, and he helps build young men of all

walks of life in leadership and in God.

222

:

And I've really enjoyed seeing his

content because, even though I'm not a

223

:

man, um, it, it's still so encouraging.

224

:

And every day like clockwork, he

has, something positive to say.

225

:

He always manages to rap in the

word of God and what he's saying.

226

:

And I would love for Eli to see things

like that, as he's growing up and

227

:

not just the nonsense that's out there

on the internet, but what Rich is

228

:

doing it's just so good for the heart

and it's, it's truly amazing to see.

229

:

But he and I actually had a conversation

over message a few days ago and to give

230

:

you some context, I posted a clip of

my numbers Bible study the other day

231

:

where I shared what I felt, you know,

my opinion was the message that I took

232

:

away from chapter 22, in numbers.

233

:

And the conversation

was so refreshing and.

234

:

he kind of just poked a little

further into what I meant by the

235

:

caption, in my post, and I'm going

to actually read that for you guys

236

:

just because it, it was so great

237

:

So he first asked?

238

:

How do you derail God's plan?

239

:

Sister and I put hi.

240

:

Well, I did in the past.

241

:

now I'm more careful.

242

:

I'm patient.

243

:

But some people would say

they don't listen to their

244

:

gut, so things get derailed.

245

:

I say now it's discerning

what's good and bad.

246

:

So I was speaking, about chapter 22 and.

247

:

If you're not familiar, This is where this

gentleman Baam is writing, on his donkey.

248

:

And his donkey is clearly trying

to give him signs that there's an

249

:

angel and he's just not listening.

250

:

And he also didn't listen

to God's instructions that

251

:

were clearly given to him.

252

:

So, I took the story as if you do not

listen to what God is trying to tell you

253

:

where he's trying to take you, you can,

derail the plan that he has for you.

254

:

But, what Rich was questioning

is, you know how it is that

255

:

we can derail God's plan?

256

:

Because if it's God's plan, it's his

plan, it's going to happen, which is

257

:

true, Essentially our conversation

led to me saying, we will get there.

258

:

We will just have more

trouble getting there.

259

:

because we failed to listen

and because we failed to obey.

260

:

So.

261

:

he just gave so many great examples and

262

:

It is just amazing.

263

:

There's just so many things that you can

take away, from conversations like that.

264

:

So I'm really, really grateful for all

of the people that have come into my

265

:

life and just not just praying for me

and the time that I spend with them, but

266

:

even conversations like that, I truly

hope that someone one day can feel what

267

:

I'm feeling because I feel like just

all aspects of my life are changing.

268

:

And while, yes, I do still go

through things and I have my

269

:

days where I don't feel good or

I'm just not in a great mood or.

270

:

marriages are also shaky and whatnot,

and relationships at work, whatever

271

:

it is, I still go through things.

272

:

I'm not exempt because

I'm a follower of Christ.

273

:

it's still amazing to have all

of these other positive things

274

:

that you can look forward to.

275

:

So, I did mention that I had two

things to talk to you guys about, but.

276

:

To wrap up this episode, I wanted

to do a little comparison, God and

277

:

the Five Love Languages sometimes

we forget that even if we don't

278

:

find the perfect man, we don't find.

279

:

The perfect relationship, we

will always have the perfect God.

280

:

And it's funny because as I was praying

here on my desk, planning out this

281

:

episode, I just looked up and I saw the

book that my best friend gave me for

282

:

my birthday, the Five Love Languages.

283

:

And I was like, wow.

284

:

It was almost like an epiphany.

285

:

I was like, oh my God, God actually.

286

:

Does everything in the five

love languages, like he meets

287

:

every single one of them.

288

:

Um, so I kind of broke it down, in

my own take of course, and I just

289

:

wanted to share that with you guys.

290

:

The Five Love Languages.

291

:

The Secret to Love That Lasts by

Gary Chapman and the Five Love

292

:

Languages are words of affirmation.

293

:

Acts of service, receiving gifts,

quality time, and physical touch.

294

:

Me personally, I think my love languages

would probably be words of affirmation,

295

:

acts of service, and physical touch.

296

:

so when I was writing this down and really

analyzing how God fills every single one.

297

:

Of these love languages,

words of affirmation would

298

:

be of course his Holy Bible.

299

:

The Bible is quite literally

his love letter to us.

300

:

It's our guide.

301

:

And while I can narrow it down

to one or two scriptures, there

302

:

are just endless words in there

303

:

That shows his love for us and

obviously what Christ did for us on

304

:

that cross, the second one is acts

of service and in acts of service.

305

:

this one to me was a no

brainer, and that is that God or

306

:

Jesus, they fight our battles.

307

:

They take away our anxieties.

308

:

They're also healers, they feed our souls.

309

:

And of course, we've all

heard of miraculous healing.

310

:

All these stories where people were

sick, fighting all sorts of diseases,

311

:

and then out of nowhere they're just,

they go to the doctor and that's it.

312

:

There's nothing there.

313

:

so these are acts of service that we

receive from God and from Jesus, And

314

:

now we move on to the third, the third.

315

:

Love language, receiving gifts.

316

:

This one is a little more tricky.

317

:

When I was thinking about it, I was like,

oh, well I'm not actually gonna, you know,

318

:

say that my car is a gift from him, but.

319

:

Physical things that we have, like

money, our home, our cars, those

320

:

are, those are blessings from God.

321

:

So while he actually didn't give it to

us, because we worked for those things,

322

:

we wouldn't have those things if it wasn't

because he has blessed us with the ability

323

:

to work in a particular place, to have

enough money to do all of these things.

324

:

So all the things that we have

are from God, and especially.

325

:

The biggest gift of all is our children.

326

:

That's the heritage of God and

what greater gifts than that.

327

:

Only he can do that.

328

:

Only he can do that.

329

:

So now we move on to number

four, which is quality time.

330

:

And this was actually one of my

favorite ones because even though

331

:

I don't need to have quality time

with my spouse all the time, I

332

:

love having that quiet time for me.

333

:

And with God and the gift of prayer

and just being still feeling his

334

:

peace, that is his gift to us.

335

:

We are able to just feel his presence.

336

:

We are just able to have that time,

read the Bible, and know that he is

337

:

listening and we are always being heard.

338

:

And finally The last love

language is physical touch.

339

:

And of course, while God physically

can't touch us and we can't feel that,

340

:

we can feel the Holy Spirit, and this

is just probably the most amazing,

341

:

amazing feeling that I have ever had.

342

:

Sometimes it feels like a

little shiver down the spine.

343

:

Sometimes it's just swelling in

your chest and you just feel this

344

:

immense joy, and it's just kind of

like pure love flowing through you.

345

:

That's really the only way

that I can explain that.

346

:

So these five things, words of

affirmation, acts of service, receiving

347

:

gifts, quality time, physical touch.

348

:

God checks every single one of

those boxes in different ways.

349

:

And if you are wanting those

things, all of those things from

350

:

one person and you can't find them,

of course you can't find them.

351

:

No one is perfect, but God is perfect

and he is whole and he is righteous, and

352

:

he will most certainly give you all of

those things that you are looking for.

353

:

So to finally wrap up this episode,

guys, I've read a lot of scripture,

354

:

But for some reason, the first time

I read this one today, I don't know.

355

:

I was like, wow, this,

this is really good.

356

:

but anyway, it's first Corinthians

chapter six, verse 19 through 20.

357

:

Do you not know that your bodies

are temples of the Holy Spirit?

358

:

Who is in you, whom you

have received from God?

359

:

You are not your own.

360

:

You were bought at a price,

therefore honor God with your bodies.

361

:

of course, it's talking also

about honoring God with our

362

:

bodies, like taking care of it.

363

:

But the part where it says that our bodies

are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is

364

:

in you, whom you have received from God.

365

:

Right there.

366

:

It's like in our own physical touch,

we already have the spirit within

367

:

us, and if we can just build our

relationship with God and with Christ,

368

:

we can tap into that and truly feel

the spirit as often as we want to, as

369

:

long as we, you know, have faith and

believe and just want to hear from him.

370

:

And that is so amazing Who wouldn't

wanna feel that, who wouldn't wanna

371

:

feel that joy and just enormous love.

372

:

That really is never ending.

373

:

But

374

:

All right, my friends.

375

:

Well, I hope that you enjoyed this last

section of the Five Love Languages,

376

:

because he really is perfect and he really

does embody every single one of them.

377

:

So it's, it's amazing.

378

:

Um, but anyway, I hope

that someone could maybe.

379

:

I share this with her daughter one

day and say, you know what, honey?

380

:

You don't need anyone to check off

every single one of those boxes.

381

:

you already have a person

that does that for you.

382

:

And that's God.

383

:

That's Jesus.

384

:

He checks every single one,

385

:

But thank you guys for listening.

386

:

Thank you for tuning in.

387

:

I hope that you've enjoyed

this episode and I hope that

388

:

it has blessed you in some way,

389

:

I can't wait to see you guys

again for the next episode.

390

:

Have a great day, my friends.

391

:

Be safe Till next time.

To whoever reads this:
I'm glad you're here and I hope you stay a while. There is something I need to give back to the world - and to you.

That 'something' is my story, my life and my words that were once marked by pain, but are now marked by love and a new found faith in Christ. But hold it right there! Do not be quick to judge. While the root of all my talks are founded in the Bible - do not mistake what I have to say for 'unremarkable' or 'not relatable'.

My story is different than yours. However, if there is one thing we 100% have in common, it's that God has always been with us. If you agree - stick around. If you DON'T agree - stick around too. Let me show the unbeliever, the doubter, and the unsure person, how God has always been there.
